Our Little Cottage Blossom Origins
It all started during winter in Woodend, nestled at the base of the Macedon Ranges in Victoria, where the weather was particularly dark and dull and left me—Mummy Cottage Blossom (aka Erin)—feeling glum without any cheerful garden colours to brighten my days.
There was nothing "pretty" to inspire a smile, so I decided to grow my own flowers from seed. I sowed and sowed, nurturing my little flower babies as they sprouted and flourished. And watching them grow every day gave me something to look forward to during the dark and dreary weeks.
Before long, my simple hobby grew into something much bigger. I needed grow lights, trays, propagating hoods, greenhouses, pots, soil, and, of course, more space! I dived headfirst into learning about permaculture and soil health, experimenting with mixing and sieving my own growing mediums to achieve the best results. Slowly but surely, our garden transformed, and I found myself embracing the vibes of a micro flower farmer.
What began as a personal passion has blossomed into something we’re excited to share with you. With the support of my wonderful family—Oliver and Cory—we’ve created our micro flower-growing studio and e-commerce store.
Our goal is simple: to bring a little piece of "joy" from our garden to yours. We aim to keep our prices affordable because everyone deserves the beauty of a potted plant or a vase of fresh flowers to brighten your day.
